Mongolian proverb: "Man’s happiness lies in vacant steppes"
Here is a depiction of a Mongolian man sitting outside, in front of his yurt, and playing an instrument called the Morin Khuur, a traditional plucked string instrument. The tip of the chouillier is carved with a horse's head. The Morin Khurr is also known as the horsehead fiddle and can be played like a string or a banjo. In the steppes plain fields, this instrument can be heard for miles. The Morin Khuur is an insturment of great importance for the mongols and is a reflection of their nomadic lifestyle and their love for horses.
